Guided Walking Events & Winter Skills
Welcome to my programme of guided walking events! All these guided walks and winter skills courses are open for anybody interested to book. There is only a limited programme of walks on offer because most of my work is guiding private trips.
If there’s a walk that you want to book onto, but the dates don’t work for you then let me know. I might be able to put on some extra dates for another trip to the same place. Please check my Guided Walks Archive for previous events. Also if you are not sure about the difficulty of the walk or your fitness then please get in touch to talk about it and I will be happy to help!
Ben Macdui & Cairngorm

A classic winter walk on the Cairngorm plateau. This is a fantastic walk up Ben Macdui before crossing the plateau to Cairngorm itself. The scenery is spectacular!

Exploring this relative outlier from the main Cairngorm summits that looks pointy when seen from Speyside. A good winter walk with great wildlife spotting potential.

1 day winter skills course that is perfect to refresh exisiting skills or as an introduction to winter conditions. It covers the basic skills and provides a real taste of winter.

2 day winter skills course in the Cairngorms covering the fundamental skills needed for safe travel in winter conditions. Recommended for winter hill walking.

The Glen Feshie Munros
11th February ’24
The Glen Feshie Munros make for a wonderful high level walk with good approach paths and pine forests. We will climb Sgorr Gaoith and Mullach Clach a’Bhlair.

Winter Walking in Glencoe
17th – 18th February ’24
A challenging weekend of winter walking in Glencoe. We will be climbing Bidean nam Bian and Buachaille Etive Mor. These are classic winter hill walks if conditions allow.

Torridon Winter Walking
2nd – 4th March ’24
Torridon is one of the finest mountain areas in Scotland and in winter it is amazing! We will climb Beinn Eighe, Sgorr Ruadh & Beinn Liath Mhor and Beinn Damh.

The Crianlarich Hills
30th March – 1st April ’24
The Crianlarich hills offer some wonderful walking with a great variety of summits and rocky ridges. There are some demanding walks as we aim for all 7 Munros.

24th – 26th August ’24
Exploring the Cairngorms from Braemar with Beinn A’an & Beinn a’Bhuird, Ben Macdui & Derry Cairngorm and Beinn Mheadhoin with a visit to Loch Etchachan.

Mount Keen Bike & Hike
27th August ’24
Approaching Mount Keen from the north by cycling down the beautiful and quiet Glen Tanar. This relatively easy day out is a great way to explore this fine Munro.
